Skyline Aviation managing director Mike Toogood was presented with the highest Civil Aviation Award for Safety by the Director of Civil Aviation, Steve Douglas at the Aviation Industry Association Awards dinner held in Palmerston North recently.
Skyline Aviation is based at the Hawkes Bay airport and is the specialist provider of air ambulance services to the region and also operates the rescue helicopter service for the HB Helicopter Rescue Trust and the Eastland Helicopter Rescue Trust in Gisborne.
The Company also provides both fixed wing and helicopter charter services throughout New Zealand from it Napier base.
‘The presentation of the award is recognition of the commitment and professionalism our senior staff and pilots have demonstrated over the past 20 years the company has been in business.
‘We are all thrilled and proud to be recipients of this most prestigious award especially at a time when there is a real focus on safety in the aviation industry’ said Mr Toogood.

NIce story and so well deserved – it didn’t happen overnight but it did happen!! Skyline Aviation lead by Mike just getting on with it and delivering an fantastic result – how lucky are we to have such an AMAZING service built by and for the people of Hawke’s Bay.
