Digital story telling

By Rod Drury, October 29th, 2012

Over the last few months we've been working on a new 'hero' video for Xero.com.

We had to think about

  1. How to present as a US company
  2. Explaining the key benefits of a broad product
  3. Appeal to both small business owners and accountants
  4. Differentiate ourselves from the dominant and more corporate feeling incumbent in the US market

See what you think ...

Here's more info about the process. http://blog.xero.com/2012/10/new-video-by-adam-lisagor

For both businesses in Hawkes Bay marketing overseas and local digital marketers I hope this is a useful case study.

  1. Yes.. very American looking indeed. Well done..
And it makes Xero accounting software appear as “just another piece of software that anyone can use”. In this case a good thing, as I think most people view accounting software as a wild beast that only accountants can tame!

I would change from Vimeo to Youtube though..
Vimeo seems to very stubborn and not wanting to play nice, especially on Ipads.. And you seem to like your Ipads..

  2. It’s awesome Rod. Quirky and cool. Adam Lisagor was at Webstock earlier in the year and was a huge hit. Is it as one-off or are you doing a few?
