"Fantastic, awesome, you beauty" say local MPs Craig Foss and Chris Tremain. We also congratulate the Apple Access to Australia Group and local growers on their success (finally), at the WTO.

"This victory is huge for the Bay. We grow the best apples in the world and soon Aussies will realise just what they have been missing." says Craig Foss. "This opens a large premium market right on our door step which has to be a huge bonus".

"We want to acknowledge the determination of local growers to see this issue through to a positive conclusion" says Chris Tremain. "It seems like a long time ago when Craig and I caught the train with growers and marched on Parliament and through Hastings to be heard. But it has resulted in a win for the Bay which is excellent news".

Both MPs would like to thank Tim Groser and the team at MFAT who have fought this fight to a successful conclusion. We understand that there may still be hurdles, as Australia may appeal the finding, but clearly fireblight is not one of the hurdles that can be used in the future.
