This one's for you sports nuts and savvy marketing types. You know who you are.
Hopefully you read my earlier post about the re-emergence of the Clifton County Cricket Club.
Sam Howard, the Club Secretary, and the boys (and girls) are doing a fantastic job of promoting the club and Hawke's Bay is responding. The number of paid members has already reached 99 and it's only a matter of time before we hit the ton!
At Mogul we've been delighted to be able to help the club with some well-thought out digital marketing initiatives to get the word out and membership up in the shortest space of time with the minimum of effort.
The club already had a Facebook page, and we've created a simple one-page website with an embedded Wufoo form for membership, which is integrated with PayPal for quick, easy, and secure online credit card payments.
Once the form was working, the ranks were swelling, and the club had a decent list of email addresses, the next step was an oldie but a goodie, an email newsletter. It sounds old-school and it is. But by God, it works.
Here is Sam's feedback on how the online promotion of the Club is going so far. He's stoked, and so are we. Roll on summer and the sound of leather on willow and people falling backwards out of their deckchairs!
The Clifton County Cricket Club has been set up to embrace the old traditions of village cricket. Our committee and members however are busy and short on time. We need a solution to communicate with our membership base which is both easy to prepare and easy to read. This is where Mogul has come in to help. Through the use of a simple but highly functional website and a newsletter platform, we can disseminate information, collect membership subscriptions and receive feedback. And best of all we don’t need someone working full time on it.
Our recent newsletter to members and friends of the club has been highly successful. The format is clear and easy to read, and we have received really positive feedback on its ‘professional look’. It has led to a large number of new members subscriptions, and that is the bottom line for a new club.
The Club is a brand new venture for us. We don’t have all the answers. Matthew and the guys at Mogul have been integral to getting our message out. They ask and answer the questions we don’t know to ask, and that is so important these days as technology moves forward at such speed. They have been a huge help to the Clifton County Cricket Club, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them.
