Airnet Sells IT Sales and Service Division

By Ben Deller, December 22nd, 2009

Airnet and ComputerCare would like to announce that ComputerCare NZ Ltd has purchased the IT sales and services division of Airnet NZ Ltd. The branch will continue to operate from its premises at Whakatu.

ComputerCare CEO Wayne Masters wishes to assure existing Airnet IT clients that it will be business as usual with all existing staff staying on. “We will be ensuring that current service levels are retained.  We also expect the addition of new optional service offerings and support systems will enhance your IT experience”.

The Hawkes Bay team will be led by existing team member Brock Golding and will include the existing Airnet IT staff and an additional newly appointed technician.  Team leader Brock Golding is looking  forward to the change.  “I am confident that under ComputerCare, our clients will see some positive changes with the way we do business.  The team and I are excited at the prospect of improved systems, procedures, resources and staff training”.

ComputerCare is a Palmerston North based company that has been providing IT sales, system design, installation and support services for business clients for over 20 years.  ComputerCare currently employs 26 staff, three of which work in the company’s Wanganui branch. And a further two will join the team when the company expands into Tauranga early next year.

The company was this year’s recipient of the Professional Services Award at the Manawatu Business Awards and is one of the largest privately owned IT service companies outside the main centres.

Airnet CEO Steve Stuart says “The decision to sell the Airnet IT Division was a difficult one prompted by the recognition that our growing ICT business needed further investment in staff and training to ensure the current high level of service was maintained, that the team was abreast of ever changing technical developments and well supported.  This combined with our desire to intensify our focus on providing best of breed broadband and calling services led to discussions with Palmerston North based ComputerCare.”
