Social Product Development

Here is a site that shows what can be done to turn that idea you have for a product into reality.  www.quirky.com

It even throws in a bit of evolution by way of community input –  to make that clever idea of yours even better.

If enough pre-sales are made to reach a threshold, the product is manufactured for sale. You get paid as do those who made a significant contribution to your product's development. Even the people who pre-order get a slice of the profits.

It's an interesting business model (a socially-driven incubator of sorts). I wonder if something similar would work here if it was based in the Bay.
