Although Hawke’s Bay has a physical population of approximately 150,000, taking into account those who live and work outside the region, it’s estimated global population is thought to be much greater.
The Kiwi Expat Association (Kea) connects NZ with it’s large global talent community, and contribute to the growth, development, and future prosperity of NZ by facilitating the sharing of knowledge, contacts and opportunities around the world.
Kea has a global network of 25,000 talented New Zealanders living and working around the world in 178 countries. You will find KEA groups in London, New York, Shanghai and just about every other major city around the world where there are expat Kiwis in residence.
Hawke’s Bay is the first region to have a NZ Regional Kea Group so that people who are from Hawke’s Bay, people who have worked or studied here and people who love Hawke’s Bay can all be connected to the region as if they live here, no matter where they are in the world. Click here to see Kea Hawke’s Bay.
With 16% of all New Zealanders and 24% per cent of all skilled New Zealanders living and working overseas – a larger proportion than of any other OECD country – Kea has a vision to see NZ harness the value of it’s globally spread talent and be widely recognised as the most globally connected small nation.
How Does This Benefit Your Business?
This new global network of contacts of Hawke’s Bay will enable people in Hawke’s Bay and those offshore to make connections around areas of mutual interest including business, sport, education, investment and creative sectors. Click here for more information.
There is tremendous potential within the Group to provide local businesses with contacts and ideas and through Kea Hawke’s Bay we can create a network to help Hawke’s Bay expats stay connected and involved in the economic development of the region.

Kea Hawke’s Bay has been funded by Venture Hawke’s Bay with support from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise under the regional strategy funding.
