After significant work, it's now thrilling to see the Hawke's Bay Airport runway extension put out to tender which will make the airport jet capable. After years of negotiation between councils and the Crown the airport company is at last allowed to realise the potential of the infrastructure. Calling for tenders for this work is a significant milestone in the future of Hawke's Bay - Congratulations.

Great news. Just one or two flights to/from Sydney a week would make the Bay a much easier place to do business from.
Also, Air New Zealand flight pricing has crept up a bit this year with schedule changes making it harder to fly at a reasonable price for business. I only want to fly Air New Zealand but the threat of competition would be nice to get those prices back again.

Well done to all those that fought hard to get this done. It is a key infrastructure upgrade that will certainly provide a key gateway for the Bay and all it offers.
