CafeNet now at Waimarama

By Fruitbowl, October 7th, 2009

Those lovely boys at Airnet have created a CafeNet wifi hotspot at the Waimarama Beach store.

Now you can surf between surfs. Or show people Fruitbowl on your iPhone while you're waiting for the worlds best fish and chips.

Waimarama Beach

You can find other CafeNet locations here: CafeNet in Hawkes Bay

Next mission: Decent cellphone coverage so know one knows we're working from here!

Matt – you can’t be serious? Why not throw Jupiters in the mix at the same time then! (does that place still exist?)

  8. Ujazi & Groove Kitchen Espresso on the Napier side…

  9. Zigg-zagg on Emerson St, Napier. Best burgers in town.

  10. Ha ha, funny!! Marcus, Matt is from Chch and didn’t have the benefit of a HB childhood and going to Jupiters Nitespot (where I can remember cutting tracks to Suicide Blonde back in the day), and I’m pretty sure he’s never been to the CRU bar (well, not that he has told me anyway!)

  11. Ben – how about Firecats?

  12. Haha who needs Firecats when you got net…..

  13. Milk and Honey would be great!

How about Hawkes Bay Sports Fishing Club. The best views in Ahuriri while you surf.

  15. Bruce pointed out to me today that Raffles Street isn’t allowed a CafeNet hotspot until they use Aurum coffee.

    I guess that’s fair.

  16. Ok so purely in the interest of “research” on such a fine sunny afternoon I decided to visit the Havelock North and Hastings suggested sites (with the exception of CRU bar and Jupiters, thanks anyway Matt) and here is what I found:

Aurum Kiosk in Havelock North – has full CafeNET coverage, I suspected it did but wanted to check.

Aurum Hastings – nothing, yet. I will contact Bruce and see if there are some deals to be done here…or at least some marketing material so people are aware it is available in Havelock North.

Opera Kitchen – coverage outside on Eastbourne Street but very little indoors ( I will see if we can boost the existing signal to make this a bit more useable) oh and I a very nice coffee there too!

Cafe Sutto – nothing unfortunately, Craig do you know who owns or operates this site, I would like to get a discussion going with them?

And we are in final discusions with a cafe chain at the moment too with 4 great sites around Hawkes Bay, cant wait to announce that one!

Napier site details to follow on the next fine sunny afternoon ;)

  17. Thanks Ben – we got our cards today!!

How about Taradale, it seems to have been left out entirely

  19. Good call Robyn. We have been looking at a few sites of interest in Taradale lately, I’m not sure where they are at though.. I will check progress and get back to you.
