The closure of Pacific Wood Products (PWP) in Napier has put a number of skilled, motivated and accomplished production and process staff onto the Hawke’s Bay job market.
PWP invested heavily in the training and development of these staff, most of which are NZQA Qualified in Lean Management Principles and experienced in applying state of the art competitive manufacturing practices to their workplaces. PWP’s CEO, Tony Clifford, says:
“A personal motivation of mine is to have my staff placed in businesses where their skills and positive work ethics can be recognised. We have invested heavily in training in Lean Principles over last 2 years and most staff now have at Least Level 2 in CMI Training”. It would be a preference to place them in local industry – but ultimately some staff realise relocation maybe required.”
Whilst many have rightfully secured new jobs with the region’s more proactive employers already, the opportunity exists for other Hawke’s Bay employers to add considerable value to their workforces by recruiting these talented staff.
Napier based people management consultants, People Central Ltd, are handling the outplacement and job transition process for Pacific Wood Products staff, and would welcome enquiries from Hawke’s Bay employers looking for quality staff.
Contact Steve Evans on 06 833 6465, but don’t delay as these people are being sought by employers from Dunedin to Northland, with the result that more skilled staff are lost from this region.
