The temporary closure of Wiapukarau's Caltex Service Station is going to put 15 valued customer service and retail sales staff on the job market in mid-September. Most will look to return to the refurbished site about 4 months later, whilst others will be looking for a permanent change of job.
Whilst the good people of Havelock North would see a 4-month employment gap as the opportunity to travel, write that novel or otherwise 'find themselves', Service Station staff in CHB have a more practical need to maintain their incomes, & we will be working with them to ensure they either find temporary employment from September to January, or make permanent moves into customer service focused jobs elsewhere. That's where you come in...
Think about your networks and contacts who employ front-line staff in customer facing roles, and ask whether they are looking for temporary or permanent additions of people who are used to working shifts in safety focused, high volume & fast paced environments. Other garages obviously spring to mind, but their transferable skills extend well beyond that. Whilst most are based in CHB, a temporary job or permanent shift towards Hastings would be welcome by most.
If you do identify opportunities for these people, please give me a call directly on 06 833 6465.

Thanks Tweet2eat – they don’t have coffee makers there, but great to see fruitbowlers looking to help.

Hi Steve,
Yes hawkesbay.co.nz is delighted to help. Could you please do a slight rewrite and aim the story at the general community as opposed to Fruitbowl readers? (No offence FB readers)
A photo would also be helpful Steve if you have one of the staff that are job seeking.
We are always available to publish news or press releases. For example the story about Hereworth School Choir winning two major awards was not published by Hawke’s Bay Today but we used it.
Last week 53,750 people visited hawkesbay.co.nz and these are savvy people who read their news online.
Always happy to publish any interesting Hawke’s Bay story, free.
