The Weekend edition of Australia’s longest running breakfast news programme The Today Show arrives in Hawke’s Bay tomorrow to broadcast live on Saturday morning.
The crew including weather host Emma Freedman arrive Friday and will film pre recorded segments that will be included in the live broadcast on Saturday.
The focus of their visit is to profile what activities Australian female visitors can do during the Rugby World Cup 2011. Filmed activities will include an Art Deco tour in a Vintage Car, luxury spa treatments at Mangapapa Petit Hotel and Spa and a “GI Jane” adventure with On Track Adventures which will include quad biking, claybird shooting and archery.
The crew will broadcast live from Craggy Range Winery in Havelock North between 9am and 11am New Zealand time (7am-9am Australia time). There will be 4 live crosses and each cross will include Emma Freedman delivering Australia’s weather report whilst showing one of the pre recorded segments above and one live activity at Craggy Range. The Live activities will include cycling, cooking, wine tasting and food sampling.
Channel Nine’s Weekend Today Show has over 450 000 viewers for the Saturday episode. The Sunday episode will be broadcast from Auckland.
The arrival of The Weekend Today Show was bought about through Tourism New Zealand’s International Media Programme partnership with Venture Hawke’s Bay.
