E2theMax Business Makeover Challenge 2010 – who will represent Hawke’s Bay?

By Jacqui Jones, February 23rd, 2010

The E2theMax Business Makeover Challenge is an initiative that's successfully grown in and from Hawke's Bay, boosting established businesses that may be stuck at a crossroads or at a plateau, growing fabulously but beyond existing systems and resources, or in need of expertise to realise new opportunities. This year we're particularly focused on businesses with nationwide/international sales activity or potential.

"The Challenge provides owners with the mentorship and tools necessary to really encourage, build and expedite their businesses." Rod Drury, Xero.com

In 2008 and 2009 Challenge winners Hearty Kiwi Foods, MR Print, iFarm and the Wright Sprouts from Hawke's Bay and The New Zealand Drug Detection Agency and Naturally Organic from the North Shore each experienced a practical hands-on boost, including collectively over $465,000 in contributed expertise, products and services actively worked in to their businesses over 8-12 weeks. You can see their feedback at www.E2theMax.biz/winners.

In 2010 the Challenge is nationwide and we're out to boost up to 50 established businesses throughout the country that have real potential and aspiration to thrive. We're hoping at least 2 of the 50 will be Hawke’s Bay businesses, so please get behind this initiative and spread the word, encouraging established businesses with great potential to apply at www.E2theMax.biz.

While the focus is on applicants at this point (applications close on 2 April), many suppliers have also stepped up already. Xero is supporting the Challenge nationwide as is Air New Zealand and NZ Business Magazine. Several Hawke's Bay businesses have joined in to contribute their expertise as needed: Carlile Dowling Lawyers - Michael Morgan; Salesforce Enhancement - Leanne Hudspith; Rothbury Insurance Brokers - Kim Matthews; Walsh & Associates, Vaughan Walsh. To discuss adding your expertise, products or services to the potential mix, please contact Jacqui Jones www.E2theMax.biz/contactus.

After the 12-week boosts, the Challenge 2010 publication (due on magazine stands in November) will tell the stories of the boosted businesses - a celebration of kiwi enterprise and effective collaboration that produces enduring results.

Who will represent Hawke's Bay and get a well-deserved boost?

Who do you know that owns a mid-tier established business with real potential to thrive?

Please let them know of the Challenge opportunity and point them to www.E2theMax.biz for information and application details.

Any business that's nominated via the Fruitbowl network will receive $500 sponsorship of the participation fee.
