When she's not hiding behind a giant screen designing stuff at Tank Marketing, Jen van Blerk can be spotted roaming our streets with her 1976 Pentax, clicking away things that usually go unnoticed.
Steadfast in a world coloured by the instant gratification of digital photography, she has an obsession with shooting on film. She collects, and more importantly uses, cameras from years gone by and has assembled a collection of work that is being exhibited and sold at Maioha Gallery (opposite Whales Tale Antiques, Ahuriri).
‘Anything Once’, whose subject matter is widely varied and inspired by the visual exploration of her new surroundings, is her first photographic exhibition. It starts on Sunday 11 July with an opening from 11am - 2pm, and will run until 8 August.
Jen really is phenomenally talented and we're very proud of her – but since we only hire phenomenally talented people at Tank, that comes as no surprise.
Come down to Maioha Gallery on Sunday and have a look at her work.
