The annual Hawke’s Bay Science Fair will be held at the EIT Hawke’s Bay campus this week.
The fair challenges students to generate new ideas by supporting their scientific endeavours and encouraging technological undertakings.
Now in its 45th year, it continues to attract entries from Years 7-13 students.
Last year it attracted around 700 entries, with some students taking part in more than one category – so it’s definitely popular!
The projects section is the fair’s core event, it focuses on scientific investigation and technological process.
Prizes valued at $8,000 are at stake and entries will be appraised by a team of over 40 highly-qualified volunteer judges – all of whom have backgrounds in science and/or technology-related fields.
EIT is proud to be the major sponsor of the Hawke’s Bay Science Fair which stimulates young minds in science and technology.
