The event, on Thursday September 1st, will be held at the Napier Golf Club.

With the general election looming, the September breakfast will provide an ideal opportunity to engage with the PM and support the much-needed family centre facility.

The new Plunket centre will meet the need for a more Hawke’s Bay centralised facility that will offer a range of parenting services in addition to carseat rentals, a toy library, a child-friendly cafe and Plunket’s nurse clinics.

“With more parents working and finding it hard to access services, the new centre will be open outside work hours, have ample parking and be on the bus route,” says Plunket’s Alison Prins, who is leading the new project.

“We are thrilled that the Prime Minister has seen this project as invaluable to Hawke’s Bay families and as such is supporting it through his attendance. All proceeds will go to the Centre.”

The breakfast is one event in Plunket’s fundraising calendar. A total of $275,000 is needed from the local community for the Centre, which has been supported so far with initiatives from such as Team Plunket, a business house fundraising challenge that ran during the month of June. To date a total of $53,805 has been raised towards this total.

Tickets for the September 1st breakfast are $45 and available now from MP Chris Tremain’s electoral office in Napier and MP Craig Foss’s office in Hastings.

For more information please phone Hannah Giddens, Plunket Hawke’s Bay, 878 7126.

KEY POINTS

Breakfast with John Key in support of Plunket

Thursday 1st September

7am

Napier Golf Club, Waiohiki, Napier

Tickets $45 each

Available from: MP Chris Tremain’s electoral office

96 Station Street, Napier

MP Craig Foss’s electoral office

Cnr King & Queen Streets, Hastings

Time: 0630am-0930am
Where: National Aquarium car park, Marine Parade, Napier

The action kicks off at 0630 with the first live broadcast and will continue throughout the morning until 0935. There will be 5 live crosses in total showing different Hawke’s Bay activities and events for RWC so there will be plenty of opportunity to try and get yourself on TV.

There will be prizes for the best dressed fan so we are encouraging mums, dads, kids and fans to don some face paint and their teams colours to be in to win. There will also be Rugby World Cup ticket giveaways, photo opportunities with the Webb Ellis Cup and breakfast and coffee fare for the early risers.

Tamati and the crew are travelling with a custom designed truck that opens out to a 72 square metre events centre that houses the Webb Ellis Cup and is jam packed with interactive displays and videos on Rugby World Cup history and legends.

Outside of the truck, a marquee area will preview some of Hawke’s Bay’s Real NZ Festival events and experiences that will be held during RWC. These include a real life ‘Running of the Lambs’ and ‘Mutton dressed as Lamb’ display to celebrate Central Hawke’s Bay’s Lamb Country Festival, a live cooking demo for the Signature Dish competition and Art Deco Cars and dancing plus loads more.

An important part of the Roadshow is for each host city to ‘adopt a second team’ to show how they intend to welcome their visiting teams and fans. Hawke’s Bay will adopt France so there will also be lots of French celebrations during the morning including an Eiffel Tower shaped Profiterole stack, French singers and accordion players and face painting for the kids.

RWC NZ 2011 boss Martin Snedden will also be at the Roadshow to see how Hawke’s Bay preparations are progressing so we want as many people as possible to come down and get involved.

It’s a great opportunity to show New Zealand that Hawke’s Bay is the place to be during Rugby World Cup so please come on down and get involved.

We would really appreciate it if you cold please send this out to your membership/databases.
